Elaborating on the mystery behind the global success of ‘Kantara’, Rishabh said, “I believe the language of movies in the world is one. Even if it’s a local film, there will be a global demand for it.
He added: “Until the 1990s, regional language cinema was dominated by Western films. But now they also integrate the local culture. These variations gave the film a new look, which audiences also love.
The creator also said that global audiences have now increased acceptance of local culture. An example of which is ‘Kantara’. Although it is in a different language, ‘Kantara’ has been well received by audiences across India. Because the public was able to relate to the theme of this film.
Based on a mythological story, ‘Kantara’ is scripted and directed by Rishabh Shetty. The word ‘Kantara’ means bottomless forest. The story of the film revolves around the deity “Bhuta” of the local villagers.
Actors and actresses like Kishore, Achyut Kumar, Saptami Gowda, Pramod Shetty starred in the film. Apart from the theatrical release, the film is also streaming on the OTT platform Amazon Prime Video.
