2 were killed along with the driver when the CNG hit the upright truck
Two people were killed when a high-speed CNG truck hit Shanir Akhara in the capital’s Jatrabari. Two other people were injured in the incident. The accident happened on Friday January 13 around 5 am.
The deceased are CNG driver Md. Momin Mia (37) and fishmonger Palash Sheikh (50). The injured are Md. Shah Ali (36) and Md. Souman (40). They were admitted to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College (DMH) Hospital.

Assistant Inspector (SI) of Jatrabari Police Station. According to Salman, the CNG hit the back of a truck that had stopped outside Doniya College in Shanir Akhara around 5 a.m. Four passengers including the CNG driver were seriously injured. They were later rescued and taken to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College (DMEC) Hospital, where doctors pronounced them both dead. The doctor said the condition of the other two is critical.

Tahsan Sheikh son of deceased fish trader Palash Sheikh said three other people and my father were returning to Muktarpur after buying fish from Jatrabari Aarat. The accident happened on the way. Our house is in Udpara village of Srinagar police station in Munshiganj.

Farooq Hossain, the uncle of the slain CNG driver, said Momin is a CNG driver by profession. His village house is in Dayakanda of Araihajar Police Station in Narayanganj. Father’s name is Danesh Mia.
