Popular Indian singer Kabir Suman has once again performed on the Dhaka stage after 13 years. After experiencing many ups and downs, Kabir Suman took to the stage at the capital’s Institute of Engineers yesterday, Saturday (October 15) before nightfall (thirty-five p.m. ). His companion introduced three people. In a short speech before starting the song, he says there is nothing he can do.
According to Suman, “I can’t play the guitar anymore, I don’t regret it. I can sing by the grace of the gurus. It is joy. Describing his deteriorating physical condition, the full-voiced singer said, “Sometimes it feels like I’m singing while lying down!”
Outspoken singer Suman kept his mouth shut about the organizers’ mismanagement and auditorium complications. Instead, after the short speech, he sang the song. Start by saying “one day at a time”. Then sing some popular songs one by one including “Suryodaya Aye”, “Jage Jage Jage Raat”.
It was at this point that this popular singer of modern Bengali songs took a break. Before leaving, he heard of a strange feeling about Bangladesh. He showed the inhaler in his hand and said, “Don’t be afraid, I won’t die.” I was not born with such a destiny that I will die on the soil of Bangladesh.’
Popular Indian Bengali singer Kabir Suman arrived in Dhaka on Thursday morning to sing in a three-day event starting on Saturday. Kabir Suman last came to Dhaka in 2009. As such, Kabir Sumon is playing music on the ground in Dhaka after 13 years.
In 1992, Kabir Suman’s first modern music album “Tomak Chai” was released. The album changed the course of Bengali songs a lot. This year marks 30 years since the release of the album. To celebrate this occasion, Kabir Suman’s fans invited him to perform in Dhaka.
Meanwhile, the long-awaited song show was due to start at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday but was unable to start on time. Due to various complications, the concert is held at the auditorium of the Institute of Engineers in the capital instead of the National Museum of Bangladesh. The scheduled dates are October 15, 18 and 21 but the time has changed. The gate to the site will be open at 4:30 p.m. daily. And this concert will start at 4:30 p.m. and continue until 8:30 p.m. The public also expressed their anger when the program started after the scheduled time.
They said the main gate was supposed to open at 4:15 a.m. Saturday, but the gate was opened 20 minutes after the scheduled time. Many spectators waited outside the door due to the displacement. Besides the general public, many showbiz stars also lined up. Among them were Runa Khan, Suman Anwar, Masood Hasab Ujjal and many others.
On the other hand, thirty minutes after the start of the event, the organizers fired the media workers from the auditorium! This provoked negative reactions from the organizers. Before the start of the event, Tajul Islam, one of the organizers, was asked for a press card by journalists from some newspapers, but he got busy and got stuck.
Organizer Peephole has previously sparked controversy due to poor ticket management, auditorium complications and rude treatment of reporters. According to the organizers, the journalists had half an hour for information gathering and video footage. They are not spectators with tickets. As a result, their presence will disrupt the music enjoyment of the ticket-buying public!
