Call for entries for the National Film Awards

Nominations from film producers are invited for the “National Film Awards 2021”. This was informed by a notification sent by the Directorate of Information on Tuesday. It is said that the application can be submitted until September 22.

According to the notification, film producers must apply within the prescribed schedule. The application form/table can be picked up from the Bangladesh Film Censor Board. The application form can also be downloaded from the Censor Board website www.bfcb.gov.bd.

It is further indicated that a copy of the corresponding film on DVD/USB stick must be submitted with each application form. Artists/Artisans nominated for the award should submit three copies of CV (Bangla) with PP format photograph, certified photocopy of national ID card / certified copy of passport (if applicable) / photocopy certified birth certificate in the case of child artists with the application form.

According to the notification, as always, the National Film Awards will be awarded in 28 categories. They are: Lifetime Achievement Award, Best Picture, Best Short Film, Best Feature Film, Best Director, Best Actor (Lead Role), Best Actress (Lead Role), Best Actor (Supporting Role), Best Actress (Supporting Role) , Best Supporting Female Performer, Best Comedy Performer, Best Child Artist, Special Prize in the Child Artist Category, Best Music Director, Best Dance Director, Best Singer, Best Singer, Best Lyricist, Best Composer, Best Storyteller, Best Screenwriter, Best Dialogue Writer, Best Editor, Best Art Direction, Best Cinematographer, Best Sound Designer, Best Costumes and Props, and Best Makeup Artist.

As per National Film Awards policy, only Bangladeshi nationals will be considered for this award. Co-production films will be considered for the award. But the foreign artists and the crew of this film will not receive the award.

Additionally, the film to be considered for the National Film Award must be certified by the Film Censor Board and released in theaters in 2021. There is no theatrical release requirement for short films and documentaries. But he should be certified censor in 2021.
