Chanchal in Sreejith’s movie

Chanchal in Sreejith’s movie
A few days ago, the rumor spread. Bangladeshi actor Chanchal Chowdhury will play the role of legendary Bengali filmmaker Mrinal Sen. Directed by successful Tollywood filmmaker, Srijit Mukherjee. However, none of them then confirmed the news. Chanchal only said the discussion is ongoing, not yet final.
But this time, there is no room for doubt. Because both of them have confirmed that Srijit-Chanchal is the one in the movie named ‘Padatik’. It is based on the life and work of Mrinal Sen. Mrinal Sen passed away on December 30, 2018. The makers-producers revealed the shocking news on this special day.
Sreejith shared an early poster for the film. It says there, Chanchal Chowdhury is the Mrinal Sen of the screen. The ‘Hawa’ star also gave his stamp of approval by commenting on Sreejith’s post.
Meanwhile, Srijit Mukherjee considers ‘Padatik’ to be his most difficult work. He commented, “I’ve done biopics or similar films before. For example, ‘Shabash Mithu’ or ‘Ek je hai raja’. But it is undoubtedly the most difficult!
The character of Mrinal Sen is undoubtedly very important. Srijit Mukherjee did not trust anyone from his country and city but Chanchal for such a task. There are many reasons for this. He said something like this: “First of all, the faces of the two are similar. It’s a coincidence. But like Mrinalbabu, Chanchal’s eyes are very keen and alert. Chanchal also has much in common with Mrinalbabu’s political mind, life and outlook. It could be a coincidence. But the similarity is there.
It is known that important chapters of Mrinal Sen’s personal and cinematic life will return in ‘Padatik’. Tollywood’s Manami Ghosh, Samrat Chakraborty and others will star with Chanchal Chowdhury in the film. Shooting for this film will begin in mid-January.
Note that Mrinal Sen was born on May 14, 1923 in Faridpur, Bangladesh. He went to Kolkata for studies and settled there. His first film “Raat-Bhoor” was released in 1955. However, it was not very successful.
But later he rose to fame by directing all the timeless movies like “Neel Akasher Niche”, “Baishe Shravan”, “Bhuvan Som”, “Interview”, “Kolkata 71”, “Padatik”, “Mrigaya”. He is one of the best Bengali film directors of all time.
