DHS Announces Small Business Event Provider Outreach Session for October 2022

DHS Announces Small Business Event Provider Outreach Session for October 2022

Each fiscal year (FA), the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), as part of the Small Business Outreach Program, hosts ten pre-arranged 15-minute meeting sessions with companies. Business Four sessions are exclusively for women, disabled veterans, disadvantaged small businesses (including 8(a)), and HUBZone small businesses. These Supplier Outreach Sessions (VOS) are conducted by DHS Small Business Specialists (SBS) from each component and large company (advisor). Read the VOS FY 2023 Schedule link to view or download the schedule.

These sessions provide small businesses with platforms to discuss their capabilities and learn more about DHS procurement and contracting and partnering opportunities for larger businesses.

Effective October 1, 2022, significant changes are being made to the VOS program:

Small businesses will be matched to SBS and large businesses by basic North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code or skill. VOS no longer has a “first come, first served” system. After being matched with the registration system, small businesses must request one or more meetings with the SBS or a larger business of interest. Meeting requests must be accepted by SBS or large companies. Upon acceptance, the small business will receive a meeting confirmation email to include a link to the virtual meeting information. Small businesses, with confirmed meetings, will be able to see their meeting dashboard in the registration system. Small businesses don’t schedule a meeting without a confirmation email. Meeting space is still limited.

Meeting requests for October 20, 2022, VOS will begin on October 6, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST) and end on October 11, 2022 at 11:59 p.m. EST. Please read the Homeland Security (dhs.gov) Small Business Vendor Awareness Session instructions carefully. Please be aware that requesting an appointment does not guarantee an appointment and each advisor (SBS and large companies) will only accept appointments that meet their needs.

The OSDBU advises businesses to upload their statement of capability, register at https://vos.mybusinessmatches.com/ prior to the appointment date of the meeting request, and provide a valid email address within their My Business Matches profile compatible with various virtual tools (e.g. Zoom, Microsoft Teams, WebEx, etc.). Advise that if connectivity issues arise using the virtual tool, expect to conduct the session over the phone.

There is no charge for small or large businesses to participate in VOS. Please direct any inquiries regarding third party fees and any other questions regarding the VOS Program [email protected]Defer to
