He wrote three of the top 20 Bengali songs of all time
Legendary lyricist Gazi Mazharul Anwar has written around 30,000 songs. In his songs, the war of liberation, patriotism, nature, the meaning of life, love, hate, love and feelings appeared. In a BBC poll, three of the top 20 Bengali songs were written by him.
They are – ‘Jai Bangla Bangar Jai’. The song’s composer is Anwar Parvez. They are different artists at different times

Among his patriotic songs are the popular “Remembrance of Relatives”, “Janm Amar Dhanya Holo Ma Go”, etc.
He received all possible recognition for songwriting. Of which, the National Film Award for Best Songwriter has been mentioned six times. Apart from this, he has won many awards including Ekushe Padak in 2002, President’s Gold Medal in 1972, SM Sultan Smriti Padak, Bachsas Padak many times.
