Justin Ladner has been named chairman of the Illinois Utilities Business Diversity Council
Board announces further leadership changes
CHICAGO, Sept. 8, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Justin Ladner, President of Illinois American Water, has been named Chairman of the Board of the Illinois Utilities Business Diversity Council (IUBDC). Ladner succeeds Joseph Dominguez, former president and CEO of Commonwealth Edison.
IUBDC was formed in 2015 to enhance business opportunities for diverse vendors through close collaboration, technology development, and sharing of best practices among major Illinois utilities. Founding members of IUBDC include Ameren Illinois, Commonwealth Edison, Illinois American Water, Nikr Gas, Peoples Gas, and North Shore Gas.
“What started as a forum for discussing critical political issues and agendas has become much more influential,” said Ladner, an IUBDC board member since 2020. Reallocating the Combined Influence of Biggest Companies of state utilities to open the door for companies with diverse interests to enter the natural gas, electricity and water supply chains. I am honored to lead the Council and excited about what we can continue to accomplish together.

The IUBDC recently announced that Nancy Conner has been named the Council’s first Executive Director. Connor has over 20 years of supplier diversity management experience, including his diversity consulting practice helping companies achieve their supplier diversity goals by mentoring and developing minority, female, veteran, disabled and LGBTQ.
