Lung cancer is a deadly disease. Despite the treatment, the world slowly shrinks for Tapas Das aka Bapida, one of the ‘Horses of the Month’. This time, Varna O Ananya is eager to bring Bapida home. A fundraising concert is organized by ‘Varna Ananya’ in a cafe in Goal Park.

The group “Mohiner Ghoraguli” created the history of Bengali music. Their journey began in 1975. This 47-year-old band is practically a pioneer in the world of Bengali rock music. Gautam Chatterjee and the rest of Moheen’s horses have brought about a radical revolution in the world of Bengali indie music. These timeless songs remain. However, several party members have moved on to the land of no return. Bapida, one of the team’s horses, is suffering from cancer. The family cannot afford the expenses. But will it go away without treatment?

Kolkata is the city of industry. As much as this city loves song and poetry, Tilottama does not hesitate to appreciate the creators of these songs and poems. The example of the artist advancing in case of danger and remaining at his side is also in the pages of the newspaper of the metropolis. Another page is going to be added in this diary ‘Varna Ananya’.

The beginning of ‘Varna Ananya’ echoes the words of poet Shakti Chatterjee. “Be human and stay away”. Remembering the poet, Satyaki, Navamita, Rajarshira extended their helping hand again and again. From Kerala floods to Covid, from community canteens to paying homage to legends of that era – they have played a positive role in everything. This time was no exception. ‘Varna Anony’ is determined to support one of the city’s artisans of industry.

Much of the inspiration behind ‘Varna Anonya’ is missing. Moheen’s song ideas inspired the creation of “Varna Ananya” in each verse. Maheen is intimately involved in their lives. Satyakira gave a concert earlier to pay tribute to one of the pillars of the Bengali music world. The album ‘Barna Ananya’ ‘EP Kolkata’ also pays tribute to Moheen. Navamita Das believes that standing by this group member is not only a duty but also a religion.

The same tune in Satyaki Banerjee’s voice. “Not only asking for donations, but the city is with us in difficult times – delivering this message to Bapida and wishing him a speedy recovery is one of the goals of this program,” Satyaki said. According to him, there is no harm in soliciting donations through the industry.

‘Varna Ananya’ is a track with the excerpt ‘Some past is for future’. Thus, whoever grew up listening to the songs of the past has a personal responsibility towards the creator. Commentary, by Rajarshi Ghosh.

Gaurav Chattopadhyay, one of the members of ‘Varna Ananya’, is the son of Gautam Chattopadhyay, the creator of ‘Mohiner Ghorali’. “Everyone is showing up for Bapikaku, it feels good,” said Gaurav alias Gabu.

The authority of the ‘First Flush Cafe’ also stands next door. This concert will take place in this Golpark café on January 15 at 3 p.m. Admission to the concert is free. All the love given by the public will be given to Bapida’s family. Apart from offline, the coffee authorities are also planning to organize concerts for expats online.
