Shakira declared Spain as his tax domicile in 2015. He said he paid 17.2 million euros in taxes and had no outstanding debts. However, in a separate case in 2019, Shakira’s ex-boyfriend PKK was fined 2.1 million euros by Spain’s national court for tax evasion. He was convicted of tax evasion between 2008 and 2010.
