The Football World Cup will be held in Madhumita, the film will be played at Uttara Club
Sports Desk: The 2022 FIFA Football World Cup will kick off in Qatar from today. Like the rest of the world, Bangladesh was also affected by the World Cup. No feature films will hit theaters in the next month. After learning about the case, Dhaka’s elite cinema hall “Madhumita” stopped showing the film for a month.
They will show the football world cup on the projector during this period. Iftekhar Uddin Naushad, the owner of the hall, said: “I have seen from experience that ordinary people have no desire to watch movies during the soccer world cup. The directors-producers know it too. He therefore did not release any major films during this period. But the room has a cost. We have a lot of staff who need to be paid monthly. So I decided to show the World Cup game in the hall this month. ‘
Uttara Club took a new initiative when Madhumita decided not to screen the film. They organized film screenings for club members on a commercial basis. Mansoor Ali, who has been associated with the cinema for four decades, has booked films for the club.
He said: “We have done many films including ‘Bidrohi’, ‘Bikshov’, ‘Shaan’, ‘Operation Sundarbans’. Club members are elite, they love Bengali films. interest. If other clubs like Dhaka Club, Dhanmondi Club, Gulshan Club were also playing Bengali movies like the club members, then the crisis of cinema halls would have been reduced a lot. I think if Uttara Club knows this, other clubs will also look into the matter.”
