WhatsApp is the most widely used instant messaging application in the world. WhatsApp, owned by Meta Platforms Inc, has the largest number of users in India. WhatsApp users can store lots of media data on their platform. These include photos, videos, GIFs, and documents. For WhatsApp backup option, users get Google Drive or iCloud (for iPhone) option.
But sometimes this backup is not enough for many users. And many other users don’t want to link their WhatsApp data to Google or Apple devices. The best way for such users is to download WhatsApp data and media offline. We tell you how to download WhatsApp data offline on an Android device…!
Find your WhatsApp files
On Android phones, WhatsApp stored all files in a separate folder in the phone storage. This storage was previously on the phone, but now this folder has been moved.
To find the WhatsApp folder, follow these steps:
Navigate to the internal storage of the phone then follow this procedure-
Storage > Android > media > com.whatsapp > WhatsApp > Media using any file explorer
In this folder, you will find many subfolders such as WhatsApp Animated GIFs, WhatsApp Audio, WhatsApp Images, and WhatsApp Videos.
You can backup any folder on your desktop or laptop as you wish. After that, you can transfer it to hard drive or flash drive. If you want to backup all your media files, you can copy the entire media folder with all subfolders.
If you installed WhatsApp on your new phone, you can retrieve the folder from the same location. For this, you have to manually download all the media files saved for it.
