Will Dilip Kumar-Madhubala’s love story be in the film?
Neither Dilip Kumar nor Madhubala are alive, but their romance is still talked about. The tragic love story will come naturally to the cinema about Madhubala. Madhur Bhushan might have dropped his sister’s biopic after realizing it.
Madhubala’s sister Madhur Bhushan thinks there is nothing to tell about the love story of Dilip Kumar-Madhubala. And for this reason, he sent a legal notice to filmmaker Tutu Sharma, the Times of India said.
When Bollywood actress Padmini Kolhapur’s husband Tutu got his hands on Madhubala’s biopic, the late Bollywood star’s sister stood in the way.
Madhur Bhushan is clearly upset at the news of his sister’s biopic making. In the legal notice, he said he was concerned that Tutu misrepresented the real events by portraying the Dilip Kumar-Madhubala love story.
In 1944, while shooting the movie Zoar Bhata, two Bollywood superstars, Dilip Kumar and Madhubala, got closer. Later, their love nearly got married but ended in tragedy.
In a previous interview with Times of India, Madhur Bhushan revealed the reason behind Dilip Kumar’s breakup with his sister. He said, “Madhubala and Dilip Kumar were together for 9 years. The reason they were hyped about them was the movie ‘Naya Aur’. When the situation worsened, they separated.
“Maybe they couldn’t be together because Allah didn’t want it. When Dilip Sahib came back later, Madhubala asked him to apologize to our father. Dilip Sahib treated him angrily (of his father) of “tyrannical and harsh”.
Madhubala made his debut in Indian cinema in 1942 with the film “Basant”. After that many popular movies like ‘Mahal’, ‘Amar’, ‘Mr and Mrs Fifty Five’, ‘Chalti Ka Naam Garhi’, ‘Mughal-e-Azam’, ‘Barsat Ki Ek Raat’ came from him.
